Honoring Our Veterans Every Day

Honoring our Veterans and Reflect this Veterans Day Across the country, thousands of schools, communities and companies are marking this Veterans Day, a celebration to honor veterans for their patriotism, love of country, willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Who are we honoring? Here’s a look:
  • There are approximately 23 million U.S. veterans living today
  • Nearly 10 million are 65 and older
  • Approximately 2 million are under the age of 35
  • Five states have more than 1 million veterans among their population: California (2.1 million), Florida (1.7 million), Texas (1.7 million), New York (1 million) and Pennsylvania (1 million)
The time we’re given to pause and recognize those who served never fails to move us to extreme humbleness and gratitude. Almost all of us – like many of you – know someone who served our country. At Alert 360, we are fortunate to work alongside veterans who have chosen to apply their unique perspectives and talents to providing, installing, and monitoring alarm systems and related services. These former military members are now dedicating themselves to providing home security and home automation solutions that keep property and loved ones secure and comfortable right here at home. From Serving His Country to Caring for Our Customers This past year, former Navy 3rd Class Petty Officer Cary Bell joined the Alert 360 family, bringing tremendous skill and experience as Customer Service Manager in our Irving, Texas, center. Like the millions of service personnel who have returned home and rejoined civilian life, Cary offers meaningful insight into these everyday heroes and their tremendous contributions to our country and workforce. In high school, Cary dreamed of being a DJ and spinning records. But then a Navy recruiter introduced him to another dream – becoming a “Radio Man.” Working in IT Communications, he served in the Navy for four years and then in the Reserves for another three years, with tours in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. One of his greatest roles was communicating with families while his ship, the USS Peleliu (LHA-5) or the “Iron Nickel,” was deployed overseas – before the internet became the communications tool it is today. Interacting with and keeping his fellow sailors and their families updated was exciting for him – and a natural path to a career in customer care, serving families from California to Florida. Continuing the Commitment, Keeping Families Safe The security and home automation industry provides a common purpose for many veterans. For Cary, who’s been in the industry for 14 years, it is being able to help and give people a sense of security and protection through advancing technology: “With home automation, customers have real-time information on their smartphones anytime they need assurance their property and valuables are secure and everything is fine at home.” From Cary’s perspective and ours – from active duty to the private workforce – veterans bring admirable strengths to any role:
  • Leading by example
  • Being committed to helping in the time of need
  • Having honor and doing the right thing at all times
  • Always being ready to assist
For these reasons and more, we are thrilled when a veteran considers a career in home security services and honored to have them working alongside us. Additionally, providing security for those who safeguard us and as part of our exclusive programs, we offer a special Military Policy as our way to assist those still serving in the armed forces. Words and Events that Honor Veterans Perhaps one of the most meaningful things we can do to show appreciation to veterans and their families is a simple “thank you.” It’s a small gesture but needs to be said along with the more public events and celebrations. We’ll also be marking the annual holiday in our own, personal ways and hope you will too. To help: To veterans everywhere and especially those who have chosen to join us at providing, installing, and monitoring alarm systems Alert 360, today and every day, we offer a heartfelt “thank you” for your service and sacrifice.
