Pro Tips for Residential Fire
by Stephen Factor, Sales Manager - Alert 360 DFW
Have you ever thought about what you and your family would do in the event of a fire?
Home Fires are reported on average every 88 seconds with more than 3,000 deaths every year.
The Issue:
Panic, the danger of not knowing what to do when there is a fire.
The solution:
- Fire escape plan
- Emergency exits
- Designated meeting place
- Fire Extinguishers
The most effective way of helping your loved ones is to plan and practice in the event of a fire. If the smoke detector sounds or you notice, there’s a fire what is the family plan?
Where are my emergency exits? If it’s a 2-story home then an investment in a rope ladder. If the front door is cut off what is my second option? Practice escaping and have a prearranged meeting place.
Have Fire extinguishers in strategic locations. And check them once a month.
How can Alert360 help you?
-monitored smoke detectors. In the event of a fire, we use photoelectric smoke detectors to pick up a fire in its early smoldering phase.
These smoke detectors will allow our monitoring station to alert the local fire department. This way if the smoke has you incapacitated or you’re not at home, then Alert 360 is watching for those alerts on the smoke detectors 24/7.
Encourage your customers to plan ahead with a fire plan and escapes, contingency escapes, plus a designated meeting spot.
